This morning on Lucy & Kel for Breakfast, things took a hilarious turn thanks to two classic mixups – one from a listener, and one from Lucy herself.

It all started when a voicemail landed in the show’s inbox last night. The only problem? It wasn’t meant for them. It was a message for a mechanic, complete with sound effects.
ā€œIt’s making this kind of didididididit noise,ā€ the caller said. ā€œAnd sometimes when I brake, there’s a loud chhh.ā€
Kel couldn’t stop laughing. ā€œI finally understand what my mechanic goes through when I try to explain a car problem!ā€

Then Lucy admitted her own wrong message story, and hers was a lot more personal. Years ago, she meant to text her boss about a colleague who’d made a mistake on air but accidentally sent the message to the colleague instead.

ā€œI realised the second I hit send,ā€ Lucy said. ā€œI just died a thousand deaths.ā€
Even worse? That colleague is now her boss.

Between misfired texts and mystery voicemails, it seems no one’s safe from a good old-fashioned message mishap.

So, have you ever sent a text to the wrong person? Maybe even your boss?
