More about Milly, Asha & Maja:
Milly Illingworth – Melbourne Renegades A rising star in cricket, Milly Illingworth brings raw pace and fearsome bowling to the Melbourne Renegades. Hailing from Port Campbell on Victoria’s southwest coast, this teenage fast-bowler with her distinctive slingy action has quickly made a name for herself. After developing her skills at Essendon Maribyrnong Park in Melbourne, Milly represented Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa in 2023 before making her debut for Victoria and the Melbourne Stars. Her promising career trajectory marks her as one of cricket’s most exciting young talents to watch.
Maja Markovski – Melbourne Victory Football Two-time A-League champion Maja Markovski has established herself as a formidable presence in Australian football. After winning back-to-back titles with Melbourne Victory in 2020/21 and 2021/22, Maja took a year away from A-League action to refocus and develop under mentor Caitlin Friend at FC Bulleen Lions. The move proved transformative, with Markovski helping lead Bulleen to the Victorian NPLW League Championship. Her journey of perseverance and determination continues to inspire as she returns to A-League competition.
Asha Hinton – VAFA Umpire A third-generation umpire, Asha Hinton has become a pioneering figure in Victorian football umpiring. Since being recognized as the VAFAUA Best First Year Umpire in 2013, she has evolved into a respected boundary umpire and mentor within the VAFA community. Beyond her on-field contributions, Asha has taken on significant leadership responsibilities through coaching and the VAFA Women’s Umpiring Academy. Balancing her umpiring career with work as a nanny, gymnastics coach, and her completed Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education, Asha is passionate about encouraging more young women to get involved in umpiring. She proudly represents the important role women play in all levels of footy.
