On Wednesday on Lucy and Kel for Breakfast, thanks to Baby Mum Mum, we surprised our third Taking Care of Christmas winner Victoria, a mum whose strength through a heartbreaking season left us in awe.
Victoria recently welcomed a baby after a pregnancy marked by severe hyperemesis gravidarum. She described crawling around the house, daily hospital visits, and feeling like she was “dying every day.” Treatment didn’t work, her husband has been off work with an injury, and she has not been able to afford the physio she needs.
On top of that, she felt she was not present for her older kids and could not buy a single thing from their Christmas list.
Even so, she struggled to nominate herself. She wrote, “It is difficult to ask for help… but writing this is freeing.” She even said to choose someone else if they needed it more.
But today was her day.
Victoria received a $1,000 Visa gift card to help take care of Christmas, proudly supported by Baby Mum – Mum.
Her stunned response:
