It was thunder, lightning, and plenty of opinions on Lucy & Kel for Breakfast, and no, not just from the sky. As Melbourne braced for wild rain, high winds, and thunder, the real question was: are you Team Kel or Team Lucy?
Kel’s the type who hears “severe thunderstorm warning” and thinks, “Yes! Free entertainment!” He loves the drama of a big storm, the kind that makes the sky light up and the world feel a little wild. “Bring me the horizon,” he said, probably grinning at the sound of thunder in the distance.
Lucy, meanwhile, was ready to bunker down. “I just want a cup of tea and a blanket and to just bunker down and wait this thing out,” she said. Kel laughed, “You’re going straight home today and you’ve probably got three umbrellas in the back of the car — just in case.”
Team Kel were the thrill-seekers, like Salvatore who said, “I love thunder and lightning …” to which Kel replied “Very very frightening…” and Danielle, who was out helping her arborist team and texted, “Fallen trees are my jam!” (Please wear a hard hat, Danielle.)
Team Lucy were the soft hearts, feeling sorry for drenched cockatoos, anxious dogs, and anyone trying to attend a funeral in the rain.
Then there was Trucker Steve, who called in with the wisdom of a man who’s seen it all. “There’s nothing wrong with you, Kel,” he said. “God’s just lighting up the sky for a bit of entertainment.”
So, let’s continue the survey… rain and wind, yes or no?
Are you out there soaking in the storm, or tucked up inside with a hot cuppa waiting for it to pass?
