A new survey by The Inner Circle found that 75% of singles would rather meet someone in person than through a dating app. Most people now prefer a meet-cute at Costco or a café over swiping left and right.
Lucy and Kel couldn’t resist diving into the topic, sparking plenty of laughs and even more stories from listeners.
Kel noted how it’s come full circle. “We used to meet in person because there were no apps, then everyone went online, and now people want real-life connections again.”
Listeners shared some fun stories. Michelle met her husband at university, Rachel met hers while working at Bunnings, Candice at a youth camp, and Tanya even met her partner while fishing.
Tayla, another listener, said it best. “On dating apps there’s so much pressure. Meeting in person feels more real. You get to know them as a human being, not someone behind a screen.”
Maybe it’s time to put down the phone and head out. Whether it’s Bunnings, a café, or even the sausage sizzle stand, love might be waiting in the next aisle. (And if not… hey at least you got a sausage in bread for $2.50!)
