Christian radio’s disaster partner Convoy of Hope is on the ground helping in Venezuela after 7.2 and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes struck on Wednesday, June 24. The quakes collapsed buildings, leaving people trapped inside. According to the latest reports 1,430 people are dead and tens of thousands missing.

Joel A’Bell, National Director of Convoy of Hope Australia and New Zealand said that while search and rescue teams look for survivors, Convoy of Hope is bringing relief and help to communities.

“With immediate, life-sustaining aid, including hot meals from mobile kitchens, Convoy of Hope is encouraging families that they are not facing this alone.”

“Convoy of Hope are reaching families whose lives have been overturned. In times of destruction and stress, we are committed to restoring hope.”

“Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the earthquakes. We’re asking Australians to join us in prayer for the situation,” said Mr A’Bell.
