In times of tragedy, coming together matters.

Following the heartbreaking events in Bondi, many across our community are hurting, grieving, and feeling vulnerable.

The Prime Minister has called a National Day of Mourning for January 22nd.

In the evening, Christians and Jews will gather at Crossway Baptist Church Auditorium, Burwood East, to mourn with individuals, families, and our nation. It’s a moment to acknowledge the pain we carry—and to respond the way Jesus calls us to: with compassion, presence, and love.

The evening will include prayer and reflections from faith leaders who have spent many years building understanding and unity between Christian and Jewish communities, including Rabbi Isaac Riesenberg and Anglican minister Mark Leach from Never Again Is Now.

This is not about rushing past grief. It’s about creating space for it—together—while choosing faith over fear and light over darkness.

If you’re grieving, searching for hope, or simply want to stand in solidarity with others, you are warmly invited.

Light will win—because when we stand together, hope shines brightest.
