🎤 Meet Our Co-Host: Elissa Parsons
Join me as I chat with Melbourne artist Elissa Parsons – we chat about moving from worship leader to recording artist, touch on AI in music an play her new track ‘In Between’.
Elissa Parsons is a Melbourne-based singer, songwriter, arranger, and creative whose life has always felt like its own movie soundtrack. From childhood moments spent listening to Stevie Wonder vinyls to scribbling lyrics inspired by film scores, Elissa has always experienced the world through melody, harmony, and the emotional colours of sound. With over three decades immersed in music, she has crafted a unique artistic voice – cinematic yet intimate, soulful yet refined, shaped by a deep love of beauty, storytelling, and connection.
Growing up surrounded by gospel influences, choral harmonies, and 1950s musicals, Elissa developed a rich musical vocabulary that would later blend into her jazz and classical vocal studies during her Bachelor of Music. And educationHer artistry expanded into painting, vocal coaching, composing, and creative leadership, all of which continue to inform the emotional depth of her work today.
Elissa’s career has taken her across the globe, ministering and performing to large audiences throughout Central America, Mexico, and the Philippines, while also empowering emerging artists as a respected coach and mentor. Back home, she has shared stages with Australian icon Marina Prior and co-produced an original musical with celebrated performer Deborah Byrne. Her acclaimed Sara Bareilles tribute shows at Melbourne’s Paris Cat showcased her storytelling finesse, seamlessly weaving her own originals into each performance.
Now, Elissa steps forward with a renewed artistic clarity. Her latest single, In Between, is a cinematic pop ballad inspired by Nancy Meyers films, Laufey’s lush arrangements, and Georgia Lines’ piano-driven writing. Featuring layered harmonies and an eight-piece string ensemble, the song celebrates the quiet moments between life’s milestones—the tender spaces where love, safety, and emotional truth live.
Deeply honest and richly melodic, Elissa Parsons’ music invites listeners into beauty, vulnerability, and connection- reflecting the life she’s lived and the heart she brings to every note.

🌟 One to Watch: Ally Patterson
Our One To Watch this week is Ally Patterson with her new track – Working Like Dogs. She is a singer/songwriter, farmer, wife and mum of 4 kids. She and her husband farm sheep and cattle in South West Victoria. Working Like Dogs is Ally’s first original single, and there’s more to come! It’s about life on the farm and working with the one you love.
