This Sunday at Experience Church, Shelley Ligtermoet spoke from CityLife Church on “Stewarding the Gift of Money,” encouraging us to examine our hearts through the lens of Luke 12. In uncertain times, it’s easy to grip our finances tightly, but Jesus invites us to trust Him instead.

Shelley unpacked the parable of the rich fool, reminding us that true discipleship includes how we handle our money. Jesus calls us to live with eternity in mind, trusting God with every area of our lives, including our possessions.

Through personal stories and biblical truth, Shelley reminded us that even in a shifting world, Jesus reveals what’s in our hearts and helps us realign with His purpose. We can face financial pressure with faith, not fear.

Live With Purpose and Perspective

So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart. Turn, O LORD! How long? Have compassion on your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, and as many years as we have seen evil. (NRSV)
