For some of you, your first reaction to the word “hormones” involves lots of pain and stress. Maybe fear. Confusion. You might actually even feel shame.

Earlier in the week, Lucy admitted to being quite hormonal for the last couple days, thus involving being “super grumpy” for part of the show. Kel with a Maccas delivery and coffees was enough to save the day, but this opened up an incredibly insightful chat about what on earth even is hormones, why does it have this affect, and how do you or the people in your lives help cope.

“Let’s take away the stigma of what it means to be a woman hormonally. We all have hormones in our body. Often we don’t talk about it, often we don’t understand it, and often the world says not to talk about it.

In Part 1, Lucy shared a helpful, in-depth look at what hormones are and what they scientifically do to our bodies. Lucy identified how this affected her directly, and how Kel & Azzan were able to support her effectively.

In Part 2, many brave Light family opened up and shared stories of their hormonal journey. One caller shared her journey through menopause, another caller shared about how vitally important it was for his son to learn about the hormonal cycle in females at school.

An incredible topic that helped normalise, educate and understand. Listen to the full discussion below!
