” I lost my partner, he was murdered. Since then I have lost my sister, my nan and my best friend. But TheLight has got me through. It keeps reminding me that God’s with me and I’m not alone.”

Last week Andrea,  reminded Lucy and Kel she’d been a long-time listener and supporter but was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.  There was not a dry eye in the studio when we asked her how we could support her… the answer she gave was incredible:

“I’m OK with the diagnosis, my faith tells me I’m going to go to another place. What kills me, what rips me apart is my three kids. So, if you could all pray for my three kids to believe, like I believe, that I’m going to go to another place and that they are more than protected by God. That’s what I would love.”

Kylie spoke to Lucy & Kel about how TheLight supported her after losing her best friend, and her best friends daughter. She reflects that during that season, 89.9 TheLight was a place of positivity, joy and hope bringing the “silly” into each difficult day.

“ We lost both of them… and throughout that time, I had TheLight… it touched me… I loved the positivity, the verses and the fun conversations that brought a little bit of silly into the world… I’m just grateful that the songs came on just when I needed them.”
