In today’s press conference with Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews, it was announced that there is a record 484 new cases in Victoria today.
Andrews tells reporters that “From 3,810 cases, which are the cases between July 7 and July 21, I’m very unhappy and very sad to have to report that nearly 9 in 10 – or 3,400 cases – did not isolate between when they first felt sick and when they went to get a test.”
It was revealed that of those cases 53 per cent (2,056 cases) did not isolate between getting their test and receiving the test results. Andrews states that 53 per cent of people are continuing to go shopping, to work and doing all sorts of things even though they are sick, with COVID symptoms, and sick enough to go out and get a test.
“The one and only thing that you can and must do when you feel sick – is to go and get tested. Nothing else is acceptable.” Andrews says
A reminder that from 11:59pm tonight, Wednesday 22 July, it is mandatory for those in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to wear a face covering.
Remember, if you’re sick, go get tested and stay home.
